Iranian theaters are set to host ‘Woodpecker’ grabbing 10 nominations at the latest edition of Fajr Film Festival.
Behrouz Shoeibi’s flick which also won Crystal Simorgh for Best Actor in a Supporting Role as well as Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress in a Leading Role will be screened in the coming days.
“There is nothing harder in life than seeing someone you love decide to be alone. You enjoy seeing her and hearing her voice, but she closed all the doors and chooses loneliness in your place ... There is nothing harder in life than being left alone. You see your loved ones and you love them, but they all deny you. They closed doors on you and you are alone. Loneliness is a swamp,” a synopsis for the film teases.
‘The Woodpecker' has notable Iran stars such as Mahnaz Afshar, Jamshid Hashempour, Sara Bahrami, Hadi Hejazifar, Negar Abedi, and Amin Hayaee in the cast.
The successful move had 10 nominations in the 36th edition of Fajr Film Festival held February in Iran and scored 2 Crystal Simorgh awards at the festival.
